On Sunday 4th October 2026, officers from your local Neighbourhood Policing Teams carried out a day of action targeting the illegal use of off-road bikes and e-scooters across the area. The operation was launched in response to concerns raised by local residents regarding the use of these vehicles and the negative impact they can have on our communities.
During patrols, PC 10667 Hart and PC 06285 Woodward sighted a male riding an e-scooter who attempted to make off from officers. Following a short search of the area, officers located the male attempting to hide behind nearby houses.
The e-scooter was subsequently seized, and the male was given words of advice regarding the dangers associated with riding e-scooters on public roads, as well as the legal implications of their use. Officers also discussed safer and lawful alternatives for travel.
Greater Manchester Police will continue to act against the illegal use of off-road bikes and e-scooters, helping to keep our communities safe, reduce anti-social behaviour, and respond to the concerns raised by local residents.
If you have information regarding the illegal use of off-road bikes or e-scooters in your area, please report it to Greater Manchester Police via 101 or through our online reporting services.
